At some point, every fast-growing business needs access to additional capital. Almost always, there is also a need for additional corporate expertise.
That's where Investec's private equity team comes in. We focus on Australasia-based businesses with A$50m plus in turnover.
Typically, we invest upwards of A$15m, but are happy to invest smaller amounts. For larger transactions we can call on the wider resources of the Investec Group.
Our partnership-led approach is unusual in the industry:
- We don't require a majority stake
- We partner with fellow shareholders and management to maximise value
- We don't add significant leverage when we buy a company
- We do leverage the global resources of the Investec Group
We've invested in 20 businesses over the last eight years. We support them any way we can, but we don't try run these businesses day-to-day.
Our philosophy is to increase value, through revenue and profit growth and strategic mergers and acquisitions.
